I went to Female Voices Metal Fest. A shame that there were technical issues, especially when Tristania was playing. It seems like all bands playing on stage 1 had problems, but they should have been fixed when the headlining band was playing.

I thought Tristania gave a really good show, despite the issues i mentioned above. Delain was excellent too, but I thought the other bands were not very good, especially in the voice department. I usually liked the music, but the singing was pretty terrible at times.

I do not wish to claim that objectively the other bands were bad, but in my opinion the singers (other than Delain/Tristania) really couldn't sing all that well. Of course, practice makes perfect and so perhaps it's good that they got a shot a it. Sadly, it seems to me that the overall level of FVMF is going doing. And the venue was not well suited to giving concerts either. I think that in a real concert hall, e.g. the AB or the Vooruit - which are two nice venues in Belgium - the sound would have been better, even if the voices were not. And perhaps more people would have attended the show.

I'm bad at guessing numbers, but I'd say about 300. Of course, people were sometimes outside, getting a bite (we had excellent spaghetti :-)) so I could be off by a factor 2 ... But the hall was much much larger than required for the number of people present.  I think other people might give a more accurate count.

While it was a cool idea to have two stages so waiting time would be minimal, perhaps they should attract fewer, but better bands on a single stage.

I have no good words about this edition, the organisation was very bad...not enough good bands, bad curcomstances for the bands and technical problems.
Shame, but well Tristania did their best, altough the sound wasn't that good. All the bands had that problem on both stages.
It was for the first time that it wasn't crowded.

Does anyone have photos or videos?
Please upload them!!
So far I have only seen The Wretched and I believe World Of Glass.

And what are your thoughts on the new songs?
I HOOOPEEE someone recorded parts of them.
But at the same time I could see how the band wouldn't want that getting out.

I have got some pictures, but the quality is not that good, as my mobile phone cannot really get good images when there's not enough light.

Hope you like them though. I tried not to focus too much on Vibeke, but I'm only a man after all.

@Silvia My sister told me last year there were not that many people either ....

Just to comment on this from a guy who's a little better at "guessing" numbers :-)  I'd say there were 1500 - 2000 people there. Last I heard when I got there around 5 pm were 1000 presold tickets.
