Finally in Belgium again. ^^ I hope they'll announce which day they're playing soon, as I'm not willing to buy a combi ticket for a festival with bands I mostly hate (I'm not that much of a fan of female fronted stuff anymore ... )

Looks interesting. I was there last year and I'm thinking about going again. Someone else?

New bands:

Ram-Zet
The Veil
Manic Movement
Holyhell
Godya

The second headliner will be announced on 7th August.

I don't know very much about her, but she released a solo album this year.

live review from MFVF VIII with TRISTANIA, ReVamp (Floor Jansen), Krypteria, Dylath-Leen, Skeptical Minds, and headliner Arch Enemy on:
http://musiccredo.wordpress.com/2010/11/08/metal-female-voices-fest-viii/

On the older songs Mariangela Demutras shows her bombastic side, what perfectly fits to the original melodies. On the new songs she dares to be more powerful, like on the encore ‘Exile.’
She transforms it all in a very interesting adventure, and with very capable musicians on her side it is an adrenaline growing experience.

i've been listening to these two live videos for an hour in a row i think: Exile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZx6sfNiDKE and Tender Trip on Earth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBduQfBx1Ts they're HD and there are several more.
now, i'm not surprised i'm digging Exile since it's one of my favs from Rubicon and i'm not surprised to like Tender Trip either. but i'm very surprised to like it SO much, i love it ten times more than the "original" album version!

now, several months after rubicon and after many lives seen on youtube (unfortunately i couldn't attend any gig, too far and expensive for me) i can clearly and proudly say that tristania will always be one of my all time fav bands  :D  i'd die to hear this line-up playing the whole discography World of Glass-Ashes-Illumination hehe

I was actually the one who talked Sarah into contacting the festival to book her there, I kind of intermediated because I know the people that organise the festival. The band members of Angtoria were all too busy with their own bands to be touring. And since she just released a solo album she wanted to promote that one of course. However, she did mention that there will most likely be a second Angtoria album in the future :) :)

@disgraced: cool vids!

thanks, merchgirl!

about sarah jezebel: few days ago i read this inteview: http://carlbegai.com/2010/12/01/sarah-jezebel-deva-do-you-see-me-now/ in which she says that angtoria is now on a hiatus; moreover i read somewhere else (but don't remember where) that they had many serious problems at the MFVF and that's why that gig hasn't been so great.
anyway a new solo album is almost ready, i'm very curious because i liked A Sign of Sublime.
