REVAMP cancels participation Out of the Dark Tour

Floor Jansen, frontwoman of Revamp, has not fully recovered from a burn out yet.
For that reason Revamp regretfully cancelled participation in the European Out of the Dark Tour with Van Canto, Tristania, Xandria & Amberian Dawn.

For further information about Floor and Revamp visit www.revampmusic.com and watch Floor's videomessage

Shit, just saw this :(
Sorry for Floor.

I wonder if they'll get another band to replace them.  Who could it be?
I'd like to see Edenbridge if anyone would be able to persuade them to tour.

Uh, Serenity? I don't like them very much, dunno why. That'll be tough for me, but for Tristania, I will survive Serenity ;)

I guess there's nobody from this forum who'll visit the Hamburg concert?

Tickets bought for München, october 12th! Gonna stay on to also catch Heidenfest on the same venue 2 days later. Metal vacation!

Had also never heard of Van Canto before, checked them out the other week. Rather brilliant, much looking forward to seeing them live!

Due to production-related reasons, the OUT OF THE DARK FESTIVAL show at Le Bataclan unfortunately had to be cancelled. Local Promotor Base Productions is really sorry for this. All tickets will be reimbursed at local tickets sells points.

Paris show cancelled, only Milan left for me and my money for the train is lost :(

Anyone else coming to the Haarlem gig?
I'll be there. So cool to catch up with both my Norwegian AND Finnish friends again :) (I toured with both Tristania and Amberian Dawn in the past). I'll be there with the Asrai clan hihi.
I wanted to come to Vosselaar in Belgium too but none of my friends can come and I don 't have a car unfortunately...Big boohoo!

Ha, I didn't see until afterwards but this was the Milan setlist that my camera almost totally whited out with the flash, pic taken in London.
But it was the same as they played in London :
Year of the Rat
Beyond the Veil
Sirens
The Wretched
Shadowman
The Shining Path
Tender Trip on Earth
Exile
Illumination
---------------
Sacrilege

except we didn't get Sacrilege as an encore.

I got there just in time to see Serenity's last song.  Not my thing, pretty cheesy, it ended with an a capella harmony vocal line, couldn't see who was singing the 2nd part or if that was on tape ...

Xandria were pretty good, the vocalist was more operatic than I was expecting, though that could be because she's about the 3rd or 4th one they've had so she may be a bit different in style.

Van Canto made me think of a boy (+1 girl) band the way they came prancing on stage.  I quite enjoyed the Nightwish, part of Metallica, and Iron Maiden songs they did.  Though I find it a bit silly overall and it gets wearing after a while.  They did get a very good reaction though.

Tristania were great of course, a couple different songs from last year.  Hmm, maybe The Shining Path was my favourite song, bombastic opening and ending, "burn me on the fire" :)
Set was an hour long which I expected given the lineup of the tour, but still want to see a 'proper' full headlining set!  They and Van Canto did a little meet and greet at the end (other bands came out straight after they played) and I talked with Gyri for a little bit and just got a pic with Mariangela before they threw us out of the venue.
May post some pics later.

My short "review" for Milan:
Amberian Dawn wasn't bad but nothing surprising with their style.
I liked Xandria, it was better than I expected, I didn't knew them much. It seems they played some new songs.
Then I enjoyed Serenity a lot, good band, I should listen to their cd  :)
Van Canto is probably the most boring band I have ever seen, don't know if someone here is a fan of them but the "a capella metal " is just fun for 5 minutes.

For Tristania not a lot of changes unfortunately with the setlist of last year but great show as usual  ;D
And big thanks to Kjetil for the talk ( next time I should bring a bottle of Pastis to remind you the taste of south east of France  ;D ) and the little tour backstage, unfortunately some members where in the shower so I didn't see everyone.
Some infos about new songs from Kjetil: the structure of 5-6 songs is complete, and it will be a little more heavier than Rubicon, they hope to release it before the end of 2012.

Dutch review of the show in Haarlem (sorry I had no time to translate it in English).
A very exclusive live report from Tristania, so use your google translater ;-)

Morning after the show in Münich. Won't go into as many details as Silvia (thanks for the great writeup!), but here is the not-completely-correctly-ordered setlist:

Year of the Rat
Mercyside
Beyond the Veil
Libre
The Shining Path
Shadowman
Exile
Tender Trip on Earth

Tristania just keeps getting better every time I see them. I love how they don't just freeride on past deeds, but keep rearranging the material and keeping us on our toes. The Shining Path anno 2011, for example, never sounded better or more bombastic! It was a rather heavy setlist, using all of the in-your-face album openers. Which I don't mind one bit. :)

And, Kjetil's interpretation of Shadowman, amazing!

Mariangela is doing more and more "Mariangela" (her word) singing, meaning playing on her strengths in the alto registers. Totally fitting for the new Tristania, and promising very well for the future!
