Well, I won't be losing words here; I'm not ready to review the album, when I will, I will let you know... So far the only thing I have to say is following: I miss Vibeke's pure vocals & I miss choirs. On the other hand I find Vibeke's new style of singing very refreshing, I like that the album os more raw and coarser than WoG, I like the male vocals (both types, especially clean), and the fusion of music with acoiustic quitar... In other words: the first impression is very positive...

it's strange! Cure and particulary shadowman aren't the songs I really like.

songs I really like are endogenisis, libre, the gate, cute.

shadowman and circus aren't made for me, sadly!

The enjoyment on Ashes depends on how you can can handle Tristania's music without all the bombast I think...  B)

As I am not disliking this new sound, the cd is quiet good for me. Though I can understand why most people aren't satisfied with it. The only track I'm trying hard to like it is Circus. Dunno, maybe it is just too confusing to me...

But all in all it is a good effort from Tristania I think, and it's good I'm not the only here!  :D

Cure is quite ok. A slow tempo ballad kind song. I miss some  roughness in this song

Circus and shadowman are rather inexpressively for me. But maybe I should listen to them more often. The wretched I dislied most in the beginning, now I like it very much if in the right mood

Yea, I changed my opinion about The Wretched also... I mean, I still think it's the worst song on the album, but that is mainly because of the vocal part between Osten and Vibeke, and I tend to listen vocals as first when hearing some new material... Well, the song isn't bad itself, but that part just drives me mad... Cure still my #1 and I think it's gonna stay so.

Hi there,

Thank you for your compliments!

To clear up a little bit:

We don't have anything to say about where we are going to play. It's up to the promoters around the world to decide if they want to have Tristania to play in their venue.
If they want us - they contact our booking agency, Continental Concerts (www.continental-concerts.de), and we get an offer through them.
Then, off course, we can decide ourselves whether we wanna go for it or not.

It's not just for us to say "let's go play gigs there and there"...
If it would have been that easy we would already have been touring in the US, Australia and Asia...
The reason for this is simple: there is money involved.  The promoters want to make sure that they are not losing money on the gigs they're booking (which I think is quite understandable).

And: it's not a point for us at all to "remain underground" (I personally think it's a stupid term and a clichè). We make the music we feel confident with and would have liked to listen to ourselves, and off course we want as many people as possible around the world to get to know about Tristania!

The only thing we can hope for is that you guys will spread the word about the band and that you contact local promoters and convince them about that they should book a gig with Tristania!

All the best,
Anders
