Don't think so... Morten just copies himself any more...
In my opinion that wos a good choice... they should have fun with their music...that's the most important thing...otherwise they'll split up or so... and that's the last thing I want...

Bottom line - Tristania's music was MUCH better with Veland as lead songwriter. And I look forward to new Sirenia releases more than new Tristania now. You think An Elixir for Existence was a copy of Beyond the Veil? You're crazy!

Probably... :)
a failed copy in my opinion... but I don't want to start a Sirenia vs. Tristania discussion here... so... i hold back all I want to say...  :)
The comments on the sirenia website are bad enough...

I love Tristania for WOG - that they dared to use other influences...and I believe that their community without Morten is much better...

I still say it's the music that counts, their music has weakened a very good amount since Veland's Departure. Sirenia's new album has given them new strength, and now they are much better than Tristania IMO. And about Veland "copying himself". Where do you get that? Sirenia's new CD had a very distinct heavy/light contrast unlike their first album. Listen to Lithium and a Lover for f**k's sake. The whole song is heavy except in the middle, with a light acoustic/female vocal passage, which fits very well. Tristania never did anything even close to that in style.

I like At Sixes and Sevens more...
And both Sirenia CDs can't reach BTW in my opinion...

Of course it's no 1:1 copy... but nothing groundbraking any more... if this is called so in E...don't know to describe it really...

See it positive... now we have 2 bands...  :)
I like Tristania more, you Sirenia... we both are lucky... :)

And I didn't say i don't like Sirenia's music...

I think Beyond the Veil is better than either Sirenia release, I was saying that I like Sirenia better than post-Veland Tristania.

Ok...I don't have a problem with that...
I just don't like it if someone says WOG su**s or so in general... if you know what I mean...

I dont think World of Glass sucks at all, I just think it's the weakest album of Tristania's discography easily.

Its hard to say any Tristania album sucks especially when the very talented Vibeke Stene graces us with her enchanting vocals.  I also think World of Glass was very good(which is kinda disappointing for Tristania) but missing something that prevented it from being a classic Tristania album like Widows Weeds.  Although I will say it definetly wasn't Deadlocked.  Incredible song.  I think its a bit of everything that Veland contributed originally was lacking on that album.  For the record also the only thing I think Veland copied with Sirenia would be the flawless production used on BTV!!!  At Sixes and Sevens all the way though!!! :)

I prefer the new growling voice although i do miss mortens lyrics, even though he was repeating him self
in may songs you hear midwintertears and exactly how many times can a guy say sirene or serne its found in almost everysong
Although morten had style in writing his lyrics he keeps repeating him self, which will the end result in boredom. although WOG lyrics arent good escept for a few songs,
I just hope Ashes fixes that!

But other than that tristania just became older when veland left :P

I think WoG is quite good, but the thing I was desapointed with, were the lyrics. It was too "regular", too first degree compared to the two previous CD. And there was less great piano parts like in My Lost Lenore or Angina....

Finally Morten Veland was mentioned. For me he's a genious, and in my opinion Tristania lost a big deal, because of his quitting the band. I love Sirenia's albums and it's a pity he and Tristania work no longer together, because they were the perfect team( That is the reason why neither At Sixes And Sevens, nor An Elixir for Existence, nor WoG can be compared to Beyond the Veil)
I really miss him in Tristania, but I'm at the same time happy he continues to use at the greatest capacity his talant for songwriting.
The accusations that he repeated himself are totally groundless. Take for example the obvious difference between WW and BTV.
Heard a new release from Sirenia is due for the autumn?

Yea in my opinion Veland was of big importance in Tristania.  But I actually think it wasn't a tragedy that they separated because I think both Sirenia and Tristania are awesome gothic metal bands.  What will be even better is if the new Tristania album comes out and show they don't need Morten Veland and create something that surpasses World of Glass.  That doesn't mean making the next Assembly though!  :P

I would piss my pants if this new Tristania album was an electro pop album! :o

To ease your mind, from what I've heared from Kjartan: it's not an electro album.

Definitely not! :-)

And in my opinion (which is a little biased by now) - it's such a diverse album it encompasses all they've done before, in any direction. It'll be hard and fast, yet tender and organic.

Only too bad it ain't here yet - it really is an autumn record.

I don't wanna wait any more!...

And WOG bad lyrics? Did I miss something?
I would just love old-english lyrics again.. :) But probably they aren't suitable for WOG...
