Equilibrium
« on: 30 January 2009, 12:51:37 »

The song, "Equalibrium", is the most mesmerising song I've ever heard.  The high and low pitched lyrics are complimentary, and give the song a touch of femininity and masculinity, a balance that allows the song to represent both sexes.  The complimentary aspect of the vocals and the guitar ryths associated to them is quite clever: gentle, high-pitched guitar ryths for the man and harder, disorted ryths for the lady during the chorus.

All in all, I'd have to say it's the best sounding song I've ever heard.  I enjoy listening to it everyday.

Tragedienne,

What do you like the most about Equilibrium?  I think the guitar ryths appeal to me the most.

I used to like this song, but it's quickly gotten old.

Each to their own.  I still enjoy the song as much as I did when I first heard it.

Oh, I definitely don't think it's a bad song. I think I've just listened to it a few times too many.

I love this song ! One of my favorite of Tristania. The atmosphere is so deep... I'm trying to learn to sing it and yes there is a big difference between the pitches of vibeke and osten.

By the way, on the album there are some lyrics which are writing, which actually aren't sing. How does that come ?

The only speaking I recall is further in the song? Like 2:17 into the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI0HuXzJUe0#t=2m17s

Yeah, the beginning of the lyrics ("this is the slowest dance..") is used as a spoken intro on the album, but cut from the video version.

The spoken part IS used in video, as Tjeerd said ... it wasn't removed ...

By the way .... to me, now watching it makes me feel nostalgic ... it's the last video with our beautiful Vibeke  :'(
