This is by far my favorite Tristania song, especially the choir in the beginning. Does anybody know the words to that part? It would really help me out.

Awesome song. The very first time I heard it, every second of it blew me away. Actually my hair stood on end! As for the incomplete lyrics... I don't see how they're incomplete, never took time to find out anyway.

Ok... I'm just gonna copy what I wrote about A Sequel of Decay in my Beyond The Veil review.... short, but tells everything:

Then we move from the heaviest song to the most tender one.  A Sequel Of Decay is the only ballad on this album, yet very intense in its delicacy. It opens up with female choir and then leans forward with acoustic guitar and male vocals. The special, sad atmosphere is also created by violin and female vocals. Dreamy, heart-breaking song in it’s all beauty.

Nobody talked about the violin solo in the intro ! It's for me the most beautiful music part of all time :-)
Tristania has the originality to produce this kind of violin parts (except on Ashes ).

I agree on the intro, one of the best I have ever heard.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out The Sins of Thy Beloved. Their two albums are packed with Pete's violin.

Yes I know TSOTB, and I really like this now splitted band :-(
Some violin solos are fantastic and I'm looking for this kind of music.
These solos bring so much more intensity than just cellos in the background.

If you know some other bands taht have violin solos, I would be interested.
I don't remember if Trail of Tears produce solos as I don't often listen them.

My Dying Bride's 'like gods of the sun' was still featuring violins.
Wasn't Martin Powell also playing keyboards for Anathema?

One of my favourite Tristania´s songs. Everything is near to perfect: intro, clean vocals (precious), the wonderful chorus, the lyrics...

About the "death vocals" part, I think it adds a good feeling to the whole of the song, very interesting, so expressive, a great contrast. I like that part.

This was the song that got me into Tristania, I grew to lvoe them so much with this song, it was an accidental download when  was meant to be downloading Collide and Therion.

I love the way it enlightens the atmosphere with a dreary sound of bellowing and dakrness, the choir just adds to it, though it startled it, it's nice to listen to after a very heavy concert, as it's so melodic and soft.

I totally agree. Great contrast, great ballad and emotional song. Symphonic and atmospheric, like choir in heaven, then growls of demon and Osten's lines like male angel. :)

But.. what about cohir lyrics? :(
