Uh. So, Beyond the Veil...
I was watching the video from 2009 Wacken, and one thing crossed my mind. The violin solo was playback, but I kept thinking that in Pete's absence it could very well be interpreted on guitar, so Gyri or Anders could have played it. Or am I wrong? Any guitarists in here (except the esteemed band members, of course :)) - is it true?
Well, as I eventually just got Beyond the Veil and somehow remembered this post ... here is my arrangement of the violin solo for guitar :

My personal fave is ...Of Ruins And A Red Nightfall. It's so hypnotic and addicting.
My second pick would probably go to Aphelion...but I love the whole fricking album!!!  :-*

Great, thanks! Now if only the band would see this... Frankly I think some songs could have been slightly rearranged for live performance, but it's just me. And, come to think of it... exactly how many great guitar solos does Tristania have anyways?

Tristania don't really have guitar solos.  Perhaps they could take a cue from Epica and Within Temptation's latest albums (two bands that had very few solos before) and start including them!

That was kinda my point, although I surely don't want Anders to turn into a version of Yngwie Malmsteen. But some solos might be in order. I thought that was the reason to have more than one guitarist, anyways.
