i'm wondering if anyone has the latin lyrics/translations to the choral elements of btv. they always say it's latin, but parts really don't seem like it (in a sequel of decay, she definately says "sacrificial nails on the cross" and in aphelion, it sounds like the last line of her normal part is "of our requiem")

i'm sure this has been asked many a time. if it has, i'm sorry, heh.

Well, yea, somehwere is a thread about this. But nonetheless, lyrics are Latin - and even I sometimes hear something in English, but I'm sure that's not it.

The band has some reasons for not releasing the latin lyrics. I may be totaly wrong and sorry for that but I guess that they just used some latin words without any grammer and sense just to get the mood. So it might be that they mix up the languages :)

@Emperor_Konny: Yeah, I doubt that... ;)
Anyway, I know that the child's voice says 'Agnus Dei', everything else is pretty vague...

In which song do you heared that child's voice? :)
There's also surley a repetition of the word "Noctum / Nocte" in song Wormwood :)

The voice sample is from Spectrosonics' "Symphony of Voices". The same sample was used over and over again on the score for the movie End of Days.

 :D Good one

These words (agnus dei, not the other one  :P) are also repeated several times in Opus Relinque.

I heard this word pronounced in exactly the same way as in Lethan River in some movie... (and I don't  know the title) .... and the movie was about an exorcism and every once in a while (like, when Satan has done sth really really bad    ) there was a prayer in the bacground and it started with ''Phalustein''.... It was just so... Haunting I guess.... Brrrr

I think it's so because it may fit into the contects of the song (Lethian River - Greek Mythology (if you want to know more about Lethe and so on, I can post it here :) )
But of course, until we not now exactly what there's said, we can just guess :))

Was the movie End of Days?
First I thought that Tristania stole the sample from the movie soundtrack, then I realised that Beyond the Veil was released about the same time as the movie. Finally I found out that both credit Spectrosonics' "Symphony of Voices" for voice samples.

Do you mean the word in the very begining of the song?

Hm, maybe I should get the Symphony of Voices Collection too... I think it's over 8 CD's :D

Yes. When I saw them perform the song live, Vibeke didn't bother to move her mouth at the beginning, an indication that the sample came from tape or harddisk.

It's four CD-ROMs, and the thing costs $499. You can listen to some demos on the Spectrasonics website.

You're right :) That's from the 3rd CD of Spectrasonics Symphony of Voices taken from a Boy Choir... :) The sample is called Agnus Dei

But then, it's somehow rediculous - what does Jesus and the rest of the lyrics which is based upon the greek mythology in common?

I guess it's more selected on sound than the meaning of it.
