hmm about Leathen River... i'm pretty sure she sais "Agnus Dei", as many of you.

i know this should have been posted on the WoG topic but since we're talking about choirs...

i also know the first two lines of Wormwood, they're taken from Carmina Burana...

"In taberna quando sumus,
non curamus quid sit humus"

here's some parts from Hatred Grows translated by someone on a forum...

"First line is:
"totus floreo" - I am bursting out all over!
2nd:
"nimis exaltatus" - far too high up

Later in various order there are:
"sederam elatus" - I used to sit raised up
"fidem meam noto" - See how I am faithful"

hm, it's makes it somehow easy to find out and somehow not
becuase the pronanciation differs from latin we learned at schol

I wonder about the begining of "The Shining Path"

All of those texts are taken from one part of Index Buranus (I think it's its third part) - here you have all those lyrics:

Well, I'm not very good at this, but as far as I could hear the chorus of Aphelion, I think they sing something like this:

I think I misheared a lot, since 'elimine quie timentis' doesn't look right, but that's what I heared. And yes, it could also be 'requiem' at the end, but as long as one doesn't know the

's, one can't say what the rest could be :lol:

...well, i think that often the latin parts in songs are not ever right, so is possible what you have heard... :wacko:

I agree that it's hard to write Latin lyrics that even sound well, but what I assume to have heared just doesn't make sense in Latin. And two or three words were totally unintelligable (hence the

's), but I guess that even if I could guess the words or the kind of words, the chorus as I hear it would make no sense at all, neither the syntax nor any semantics you can come up with

I think, that the latin words have only the function of atmosphere.

i agree that the latin creates an epic atmoshpere, but it means sooo much more to me when the lyrics actually mean something, even if it isn't perfect grammer.

The band has some reasons for not releasing the latin lyrics. I may be totaly wrong and sorry for that but I guess that they just used some latin words without any grammer and sense just to get the mood. So it might be that they mix up the languages

I love the song "Aphelion" but I don't speak Latin (since six years ans I'm 17) and I would like to see the traduction!

I'd say they don't want to reveal the lyrics because they used it as sort of element like electronic samples... so the content is not that important...

In some of the songs what we think is latin it isn't. I found that the choir chorus on A Sequal of Decay is:

Churkal mandatory saving life and glory
Sermon my demon till ways of my say devotion
