Wel, I also cannot point out a single song from the album. In general, I cannot have a favourite song from any album that I own, just a few that I dont like. But  "Beyond the Veil" is a perfect album and all the songs are equally good, so how can one choose?

If I really had to, I would have to go with Of Ruins...  followed closely by the title track and Lethean River.  Has anyone heard of this new gothic band Annatar and their blatant ripoff of the intro to Lethean River?  I found it rather amusing actually.

Originally Beyond The Veil was my favorite but within time I began to appreciate the atmosphere(mainly the cold dark nature and the keys) present on Widows Weeds more and more.

I usually change my favourites the more I listen to any album . Such is the case with Beyond The Veil. All songs have been my favourites at some period

I think BTV is far better than the other two.  Widow's Weeds drags too much, and World of Glass focuses too much on vocals (although Selling Out is my favorite Tristania song).  BTV has by far the best guitar work, best vocals from all three singers, best choirs, and the best drumming I've ever heard.

The guitarwork is by far the best on BTV in my opinion too. That isnt saying very much though(who hears Tristania for that).  Originally I thought the guitars and production were horrible on Widows Weeds.  Choirs as well I'd say maybe a slight edge on BTV but I preferred Vibeke's vocals on Widows Weeds as well as her role and its a given Veland will always perform excellent vocals.  What put me slightly in favour of Widows Weeds is the slower paced darker atmosphere and the work of Einar Moen.

I love each of the Tristania albums quite the same, depending on the situation/time/feelings...

I needed some time to love all songs of WOG - but the more i listen to it the more beautiful it gets... :)

Hmm I do understand you completely my most favourite album is WW but WOG still suprises me and it's getting still beautifullier..

Although, WW is for me really THE album.. All of the songs depends on my life.. well I do see it that way.. I can indicate myself with it.

The very first time I heard BTV I was left wordless. It changed everything in me-from my views on life ( and death) to, say, even my way of dressing.... That's why I cannot simply regard it as one of the albums of one of my favourite bands. It has a more profound meaning and value for me-it's  the Album

Wow! That's the most extreme compliment I've ever heard about this album.
After WW this is my favourite...

What do you mean with your way of dressing? Do you wear now only black or?

Yeah, I have one with the cover of Beyond The Veil on the front, and I've made one myself- on a black blouse with silver textile paint- it represents the logo from WW times :)

Cool! I still have to buy a t-shirt and stuff but maybe it's an idea (like you did) to make my own Tristania creation! It's much more cheaper and more creative than to buy one.. hmm thank you!

Well, somtimes you have to make your own creation cause it's impossible to get an original one...
Concentrating on the topic, My favourite song from BTV is Angina. Especialy it's ending vocal parts. I think it's very well composed and combines perfectly the beauty of a clean voice and force of the extreame vocals and hard music.  The keyboard parts are another wonderous thing wich i realy missed on the tour...

Ohh this is a tough one - I have to say I have that I absolutely love every single track Tristania have ever done.

They have a purely elegant, enchanting sound that I have never ever heard before.

Beyond The Veil is an album that has kept me alive, literally.

Though currently; Leathean River, Beyond The Veil, Aphelion, Opus Relinque and Of Ruins have been played the most.

hmmm is Beyond the Veil my favourite album you ask... yes, why not? the first album i ever listened to from Tristania was WoG after that coming BTW... it was quite a shock to see they were so different. of course BTV grew on me more and more leaving me speachless every time i'd listen to it. after listening to WW and Ashes it remains the albums that appeals to me the most. Ashes though is a very close second and if it keeps growing on me as much as it has done until today it might win the "battle"...

I can't believe I haven't replied to this rather old thread! Yes, 'Beyond the Veil' is my favourite Tristania album too. It's nothing short of amazing, and although it was recorded 6 years ago, it still sounds amazingly fresh today.

Orgasmic.
