Interesting topic. Beyond the Veil was my introduction to Tristania. It wasn't love at first listen as I wasn't very keen on the extreme vocals back then but now it's my favourite album of any genre.

BTV  has changed me as a person and as an artist. It literally started off my obsession with music. I've always loved all types of music, but I never knew MUSIC can do such things to a person. It's so deep and so powerful!

yeah the same here, I wasn't very keen on the extreme vocals and I didn't know that  music can do such things to a person.

First of all i want to say that it's probably the best Tristania's album and one of my all-time fauvourites. Imo it has the best (the prettiest) vocal parts especially Vibeke parts   (but choires are better on WoG :P)

My fauvourite songs from BtV :
-Angina (of course :P)
-A Sequel of Decay (beuatiful violin and Vibeke's part)
-Opus Relique (maybe not the best, but it has very enchanting atmopsphere and the choires singing "agnus dei" are just prefect)
-Aphelion (brilliant song, very complexed, like opus relinque)
-Heretique (what can I say - it's very good)
:)

I don't really have a fav song from BTV, the whole album is amazing. Gee, thought I'd get over it after all these time. Yesterday I listened to it twice and today I listened to it again... looks like my obsession is still going strong.

BTV did change the way I dress as well. I literally stopped buying clothes, because I'm constantly spending money on music.

I still think a good album is better than a good dress :)  :)

I think BTV is the best Tristania album. Beyond the Veil, A Sequel of Decay and Lethean River are my favourite songs.

I guess my favourite one is Opus Relinque.
The first time I ever listened to it was before going to work in the morning
(I can't spend a day without at least some music in it and days that start with music are usually better than those that don't)
Anyway, I couldn't get that damn song out of my head, so I had to put it on a USB-stick and bring it with me the next day
Couldn't stop listening to it so I had no other chance than to love it ;-)

I also love the extreme vocals/singing duett in the beginning and the end of ...of ruins and a red nightfall
...and the violin-guitar-sequence in A sequel of decay, it sounds so full of emotions

it's impossible choosing your favourite song.. but for me "Lethean River" is the best one becuase it's the first song by them (with Morten) I've listened to...
