A Karma System
« on: 30 October 2006, 03:56:50 »

Why not introduce a Karma system where we can praise or smite a member based on the quality of his/her posts. Even if nobody cares the idiot who ends up with -10 in his Karma will be so messed up that people would just skip his/her post when reading a thread. In that way you can get rid of half the shit that's posted here. :P

Well...whaddya think?

I think that's kinda unfair.Every member deserves his posts to be read, imo.

There is a karma system on another board I read. It's annoying as hell, as all you see are those little green and brown squares. And if someone just doesn't like you, he'll just drop your karma every chance he can, for fun.

Never heard of the karma system...there's another way for evading stupid posts....just ignore the one that makes stupid posts and your problems will be solved n_n....

I like the idea but take it a step further, on the normal Karma system, you can only smite members. We must be able to smot ourselves too!!!! :D

Oh and only those that have a maximum of 1000+ posts should be able to utilize that feature. That would probably mellow down the chaos.

Sorry, but in order to get that function I have to edit parts of the forums source code, which can be compared to ask a terrorist in a mass of people to hold a handgrenade for a second.

@ blackwing: Do you take into consideration the fact that some of the members who have over 1000 posts have been in the forum for more than 2 years now?

I think the forum will suffer much less spam if we just skip the stupid games threads.

I don`t care actually. I post as much as I`m in the mood to.
Judge and assess as much as you want, my happiness doesn`t depend on that.

Does that mean that the forum would be vulnerable to some kind of mass hacking or something like that?????????

No, it' ll mean that you don' t have to rely on coding with me. Besides it makes it harder to update the forum.

I've seen the system on other sites, doesn't work for the betterment of the site, creates spiteful bullshit, I wouldn't do it, that kind of stuff is for people that like to stroke themselves.
