First Tristania-Song someone should hear
« on: 05 December 2005, 18:42:23 »

Hey folks,
what should be the first Tristania song that a Newbie should hear, that he likes that, a song for the Einstieg   ? Or otherwise.. whats the most "commercial" and a easy listening song? And what Song represents Tristania the most?
greets  ;)

Hello! Welcome! :)

One of my first songs was Beyond the veil from the album Beyond the veil. Heretique (same Album) is great, too.

Oh, for everyone who doesn't understand German:
He means a song which is suitable for Tristania-newbies.

@roYer
I looked for "Einstieg" in the dictionary, but I found nothing that fitted. So I tried to say it without "Einstieg". ;)

Back to the thread: In my opinion the first song should be something from Beyond the veil (album).

always helpful ;)

to answer you question:

-the simplest, most commercial, catchiest etc. song :
could be World of Glass ( good to sing along and easily memorable, IMO quite accessible
very suitable is also Equilibirum, has a nice and catchy chorus, no grunts (am I wrong?)

But what I would recommand more (because BTV is just a masterpiece to me, and so I always take something form BTV) is Angina, one oft ther shorter and catchier songs on BTV, and I thin also quite accessible.

"Die Seite wurde nicht gefunden."

Back to the question: I would also say Angina, it's my favorite Song an espacially the ending of that song is a great masterpiece.  :)

That's a tough question because every album is quite different from the others and any song that may be representative of one album may not be such of another. I believe the "catchiest" from Ashes is Libre and it's very smartly chosen as the opener.
The first Tristania song I myself heard was Beyond the Veil so you could as well say it's the right song to hear first since I'm here :D

my first song was The Shining Path but i'm not sure i'd recomend it to a Tristania newbie. i think the most suitable song would be Angina. it's the catchiest and one of the most melodic songs they have! other songs i'd recomend would maybe be The Modern End, Equilibrium, Bird, Angellore...

If I had to show one song to for example some school mates (most of them don't listen to this kind of metal, or to metal at all) I think I'd show them Shadowman, Angellore, Endogenesis or A Sequel of Decay, as they are not too "heavy".

If someone - like me once - discovered Tristania because of an other band (in my case this band was Theatre of Tragedy) I'd recommend, like most of you, Beyond the Veil, as this was the first Tristania song I've ever heared. An other reason would be that this song shows all facets of Tristania (clean male voice, extreme male voice, Vibekes voice, slower and "heavier" parts) so that one can get a good impression of the band.

Tender Trip On Earth I would suggest from World Of Glass ~ or the very first Tristania track I heard which was Aphelion from Under The Viel! I can't believe how many stunning tracks Tristania have composed ~ can't wait to see what they will bring us next year!!!

The first Tristania song I ever heard was Opus Relinque. For newbs I'd suggest Angina.
