I went to the show in Oosterpoort and its was verry good. First Trail of Tears. They playd 3 new songs. I also saw Trail of Tears at Summer Darkness. This was with a female vocalist but at Oosterpoort. the songlines where taken over bij there claen vocalist. It sounded verry good but I think that with a female vocalist it souns even better.
Then Tristania. From the start everything was perfect. they didn't have much problems with they equipment and Vibeke, Kjetil and Osten all sing verry well so I had a wonderful evening. For the first time I saw Tristania on a festival, but the sound there was verry poor but this time it was perfect.
I came for Tristania but Therion had to play also. I did not see all the songs from Therion but is sounded verry well. One thing happend that I hope will not have effect on the rest of the tour: The female vocalist became ill and because of that they played other songs and she stopped. I hope she will be alright because there are more shows to come.
I hope i can see Tristania verry soon and I hope that they play much longer next time.

Too bad she got ill....
I once visited a Nightwish concert where Tarja got ill, but she just kept going on. That was really amazing.....

In 013, Trail of Tears was horrible in my opinion. I didn't like the new singer, he doesn't really fit the music I think. The sound quality was rather poor, and they played along with a tape (even the guitar solos were on tape!!!)

Did Trail of Tears and Tristania bring their keyboard players in Grongingen?

Sarah Jezebel Diva went ill?

I only saw the first three Therion songs (amongst them Asgård, my favourite track of them, too bad the bariton parts were song by the skater-wth-powermetal-voice).

The Tristania gig was good, Kjetil interacted great with the public. And I'm glad the public did respond this time, their previous gig at a venue in the Netherlands (21st of june 2002, Helmond) their were a couple of gothic couples in a quite empty venue. And they just stood there staring and listening.... boring. (Me and some people I was with started a mini-moshpit, to the amusement of Kjetil.) The rental-guitarist fitted well with the band IMO, I hope they stick with him.

I haven't seen Trail of Tears, I have one cd by them (Profoundaemonium) and I'm not impressed by it. Besides I had a 2 hour train-trip and carried some bags with me, so I was hungry and wanted to dump the bags at a friends place, so I had better things to do.

@Tjeerd
Sarah Jezebel Diva went ill?

Sorry, but you don't know that Sarah Jezebel Diva is not touring with Therion this time? It was the singer that's touring with them (who's name I don't know) that probably got sick, but not Sarah! This singer is also great!

I think her name is Karen ... something. They were talking about her on the Therion board, but everybody started trailing of when someone mentioned Vibeke's dress, which apparently accidentially opened up on stage in Glauchau. Seems even the die-hard Therion fans liked Vibeke better, at least her appearance and stage performance.

OK, I thought it was Sarah, because of her... ehm... size?

Anyway, Karen did a good job of the songs I heared. I hope she gets well soon.

Kjartan: Probably her appearance, the stage presence of this singer was also good. She had this charisma which fits to 'opera-singers'. But most of the time that is also a bit distant charisma, while Vibeke has a more girl-next-door appearance/charisma I guess...

Singers from Therion are very good, but I felt like they were someone who is doing a job, rather than somebody who is doing something that he/she loves. So I think that everybody liked Vibeke because she sings with great passion every single song, while the other singers with Therion are doing their job...
This has been my impression and this is my opinion!

Hm... the Therion-singer (I referred to as skater) looked pretty much like he enjoys performing. he was grinning quite a lot.

Nope, I don't, but who outside Italy speaks Italian? (Besides Italian immigrants everywhere.)

And I don't care much how someone looks like on stage. I don't care about lifestyles. I don't consider myself a goth.

I'm sure that singer is NOT Jovannoti!!! But actually I would really like to know who he his! I've been trying to look, but nothing so far!

One thing's for sure: that guy CAN sing!! You might not even like that kind of singing, but one has to admit that he probably couldn't be better!!! They are on a really rough tour, playing almost everyday and still he doesn't miss a note!! That's simply incredible!!

And his feeling on stage!!.... if I didn't knew that he wasn't really apart of the band, I would have no reasons to think that he wasn't!!

And that t-shirt from the Star Wars Tongue great!! He has a great presence and sure knows how to get the crowd with him!!

I was there at Groningen! Man, Tristania was great! I have seen them a couple of times now, but this was a perfect performance!

Funny to see the crowd goin' wild on the first song of Tristania, while seeming dead during the entire gig of Trial of Tears!

Vibeke is the Dark Enchantress...
