I'm with you on that one. I always believe those who could resist the pleasures (be it elements of the sense or the intellectual) of earth are the strongest ones on earth. And the fact that I've been brainwashed by my parents to hate sex and lust and stuff like that. Now every time I see a picture of someone naked and indulging in lustful sex I get myself some matches and burn it.

No I'm not a fanatic, I just think its deeming as humans to act in such a way.

Oh yeah and if you wan't to know what I really think of religion just listen to Dream Theater's (One of America's last remaining warriors of true metal) In The Name of God and that song sums up everything perfectly.

Because pagan (=nature religions) were based on real issues for those folk. The jewish religion and it's childs (christianity and islam, altough islam isn't a real "child" of it) were perfect for the folk they came from. With other words: it should never have left Israël (or Arabia, in the case of islam). Their own aggression caused all the hatred against it.

And "overindulging in earthly pleasentries"? Now that's a way to name fertility. Almost every religion supports procreation, safe for buddhism (where sex is seen as an obstacle in order to reach nirwana).

There is a big difference between lust and pro-creation. This world is so bogged down in filth and heresy that people constantly use it interchangebly today. There's nothing wrong with having a relationship with another person and loving that person so much that you want a share a child with that person. That is what pro-creation is all about, its the end result which is a product of marriage that is the most important thing. Lust is all about the act itself, and the fact that that is the height of pleasure and the only reason why you're with that person is because of sex.

It's like, "hey honey let's fuck...wait a kid just popped out! But wait a minute our country legalizes abortion so it's no problem, we'll just kill the kid and be on our way"

People should keep their privates inside their skirts and pants if it isn't being used to produce a child.

Sorry but I really don't see why wouldn't someone want to give in to pleasures. That doesn't mean you're sicko or something. Someone can really enjoy other things than sex and I really don't see what's wrong with enjoying in sex. My personal opinion is to try to enjoy in everything on earth cause you can't surely know if there's anything after you die. But that depends on the person. Do whatever makes you happy as long as you don't hurt the other one. And I really hate lower positions of females in Islam an Christianity. We all have/had mothers (and sisters) and I really don't see why are they inferior to your father (and brother). And the honor kills or how do you call it in Islam is, I must say, the sickest thing I've ever heard right after burning the witches in Christianity. Ah I'm not in the mood for writing anymore.. In short: I'm against most religions

@Volkmar: I agree with the fact that abortion seems to be used as a way out, and that that is wrong. However, why could one not have sex for pleasure? There is such a thing as contraceptives, and if you only have sex inside a marriage e.g. there cannot be any problem with having sex for fun.

Reading some of those posts made me think - I`m definitively going to hell (if there is one) and I`m not not the only one  :P

@blackwing:
Sorry but I really don't see why wouldn't someone want to give in to pleasures?
- True
- Listening to good music is giving in to pleasure too, for example...

@Volkmar:
- Your post is kinda contradictive...
- Having sex is a way expressing your love to someone, and believe me , having sex with a person you love it`s at least 1000x better than having sex with someone you don`t - so if that`s what you wanted to tell, I do agree..

"It's like, "hey honey let's fuck...wait a kid just popped out! But wait a minute our country legalizes abortion so it's no problem, we'll just kill the kid and be on our way"

- You probably watched to many pornos...
- Guess what, sometimes it happens... even condoms are not 100% proof. So what do you think is better, two people raising up a child, who can`t even take care of themselves or abortion? I`m not sure about this either, but I`d like to offer my children everything they might need, a warm home first of all...

"People should keep their privates inside their skirts and pants if it isn't being used to produce a child."

- I won`t even comment this, I`d understand if some frigid old female fanatic wrote it (and that`s out of jealousy)...

just btw, I like this quote a lot:
"If thereīs something like an eternal power, it surely lies within nature and not within mankindīs narrow-mindedness of today..."

LoL, and I like this quote a lot too:

"One who has yet to find the kingdom of God should not be hated, rather they should be pitied for those whose minds are only confined to the City of Man are those who cannot see into the divinity of the Creator. These people are crippled, deaf and mute and can only see the shadows that this earthly life gives them for in the end all must die. Our lives are one of tragedy".....St Augustine, The City of God.

And this is coming from a dude who probably f*cked all the women of North Africa and Rome before becoming the father of Christianity :D . At the end even a sex-addict like Augustine realized that what he was doing was disgusting and made no sense.

And this quote is from Tuomas Holopainen, composer of nightwish. You kind find it in the nightmail section of the NW-website.

Question- Why do you wear a cross around your neck?

Tuomas: Nothing is wrong with religion, something is wrong with the people

Well that is the way most westerners look at it and its the most famous scenario that's used in the feminist movement but it just shows (to me) ignorance. If you think that its demeaning, you should ask a devoted Islamic woman in private if she feels inferior. Or ask a nun in an orthodox catholic church if she's treated like 2nd class human beings. Hell, if you want, take a trip to Saudi Arabia or any other middle-eastern country and see how the culture is from a less ethnocentric perspective. When you spend sometime out of the western world you're thinking tends to change day by day. We still have huge domes dedicated to Arabic and Greek Philosophy unlike most developed countries who just want money, power and greed and all the materialistic aspects of life. And we sacrificed all of that to maintain an old culture of the ages. From the middle-east the western is looked on like underdeveloped while it is the opposite on the other way around.

And when the poiticians want to play the blame game, they say we make women inferior to men, we tell the europeans they caused the genocide of millions of Africans and Jews while we accept people no matter what their race and creed is once they are willing to obey the commandments of God. When they tell us we hate Jews we tell them racism still continues in Europe, its just that talking about it is considered politcally-incorrect.

And one more thing: If you're that materialistic then know this: when a man marries a woman in Islam she is entitled to every single property he has. She owns all the money so do you still consider that women are inferior...cause I mean from what I've heard in developed countries status is determined by how rich you are....or am I mistaken :P

Not all of Europe is ethnocentric...well mostly its the conservative ones but as for America, look no further than the jackass we call George Bush.

Wasn't refering to sexual pleasures only.
As for the women thingie.. You yourself written: "devoted" and a "nun". Those 2 are exeptions but think of the undevoted (young-modern) women that don't like to be hidden under the veil and want to have the same rights as men. And still most of them imo will answer that they're not bothered by that cause they're afraid what might happen if they speak freely :P

Well therin lies your contridiction :P
If they don't wear a veil their not even Islamic women...get it?
And there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that because the society is shaped by religion, someone who isn't Islamic will have problems navigating through society. They're not prohibited if that's what you mean...but put it this way, imagine a country that has 99.99% patriotic people, everyone is proud of their country but there's 2 persons out of that entire population who hates it. Those people will be ostracized by society. It happens in every nation, there are always those that deviate from the norm and adopt different values but they will have to pay the consequences. When it reaches that stage, atheism and religion have nothing to do with these women being ostracized...its just human nature.

A good example is in the United States. Before the War in Iraq, all of America was behind the U.S one hundred percent. Anyone who thought differently were criticized, dumb down and verbally abused (Dixie Chicks?)....

Well, I'm a Christian and I agree, abortion is murder. It shouldn't be used if you get unwillingly get pregnant. BUT sex can be used for pleasure :) I only believe in sex inside of marriage, but if they don't wanna have kids, birth control is definitely the best option, I mean that's what I'm going to use when I get married. But sex is perfectly fine otherwise with your husband or wife if you just wanna do it because you love each other or you're stressed or whatever  :)
