I think the song Poison is totally out of place on the album, especially since the album was conceived as a whole, like a symphony or opera, and that song is too pop and just doesn't fit.
I agree  :D  It's just so random in the midst of everything; all other songs have something to connect themselves, but Poison is just there... afloat.

I´m looking forward for that! and it´s so cool because it came from Doro to Tarja. I´m sure they are friends now and she needs some network in the metal scene imo.

Watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7RA2d4gAXI

She´s performing her new song, called Enough. People are saying it´s linked with Nightwish but we don´t know, she said it´s about bad stuff that happened in her life that she "had enough".
She seems pretty pissed in this video and everybody who thinks she doesn´t sing with feeling should see this.

Anyway... the Doro´s concert is coming, it´s going to be a ballad the song they´ll perform together, called "walking with angels" or something like. I´m anxious to listen to it. ;D

Poison is originally an Alice Cooper song. (Us old rockers recognized it right away). I agree that it doesn't fit in with the rest of the cd but Tarja does a pretty good cover of it. Tarja's version is more "poppy" but, my kids like it. I like the original by Alice Cooper better.

I went to Tarja's concert a few months ago. She was awesome! She was better than I expected.
I think Poison is a very good song, I like Tarja's version and live is amazing. But, in my opinion, Ciaran's Well is the best song :D

Ugh... still not my "thing"...

And I'm not sure if I want to hear the cover of Poison, a big part of that song's charm is because of the typical Alice Cooper delivery.
I do not represent the band.

Tjeerd, for your own good don't listen to it! At least if you're a big fan of the original song like I am. Tarja completely destroys the powerful feeling and delivery of the song. It leaves an empty, emotionless song with pretty much no metal influence at all. Just the way she belts it out sounds empty and awkward.

i don't care what you think.

Well I do like the album because it is well composed.
Altough the live sound is much stronger, but she did a great job.
Shame she didn't reached the expectations, sony was disapointed I heard.

Sony? you mean universal, the record label? Well... I don't know what to think about. I mean... look at Lisa Gerrard, for example. She is a great singer, won some awards and so... has been working with a lot of importante people in the musical mean, and she is quite unknown for the youngers. I think that her solo albuns don't sell so much either. It's a shame that record labels only think of sales, but I also heard a lot of people who went to Tarja's concert hoping nothing and left the venue as a fan of hers.

Yeah, I also like her music because of that. I think that she made a mix of styles I like. One reason I wish she could leave Nightwish, when she was still part of it, is because imo their music is quite repetitive. i mean... with Anette they have a new voice, but the sound is the same we listen since ever. I don't get curious about the next NW album because I think it's going to be more of the same.

I hope Tarja's music is not going to be repetitive as well.

Jorn Lande covered I Walk Alone! His new album is quite impressive and it deserves a try.

The cover kicks ass.

No, it's going to come out in the beggining of the next year. They are going to finnish the recordings in the end of this year, so we have to wait a little bit more. :)

Us lucky beggars in London got the Last show of the tour back in dec 07, and we had the honour of being able to share the final show on the final storm show as well.
