You know, it sounds more mainstream but I have to say I kinda like it. Some songs haven't really suited my fancy, but i have to say I'm Not Afraid has a really catchy chorus that I actually like(im not one usually who likes choruses) and Cristinia gives an awesome performance on Wide Awake.

I used to adore LC. Not much nowadays. Comalies was their best album for me. Now all that they once was is gone, the dark roots, the balck essence to the music. Karmacode was crap only 4/5 generally half-decent tracks now Shallow Life spare me the thought. 2 half-decent tracks tops.

The Ghost Woman And The Hunter is definately my favourite song.

I like their earlier albums even though the music was quite simple(especially the guitar) but overall I quite like their music. With Karmacode I was quite skeptical for a while but after hearing(and playing) Closer and Our Truth on Guitar Hero all my doubts about their new style was gone and Karmacode wasn't so bad after, has some catchy tracks. They're probably not as bad as some of the other female fronted pop metal/rock bands like Evanescence(which are basically zero talent sell-outs).

Every album from them was really good until Shallow Life. Through In A Reverie and Karmacode are two very different things they I love both, the same with the others. Just like with Tristania in which you can hear a "Tristania sound" in WW-BtV-WoG-Ashes but also on Illumination and Rubicon, the same happens with LC. Einar Moen/Anders Hovik Hidle and Marco Coti Zelati/Andrea Ferro make the band unique.

I really like Lacuna Coil.. I can relate to some of their lyrics, so they're kind of special to me :)

Even though I've had In A Reverie for a while, I've just come to realize how much I love the song, "Falling Again." It's so emotionally gripping and the lyrics are relatable. I love the part where Cristina sings, "I don't want to die...please be there when I arrive....don't cry please."

I've just downloaded a live concert with Falling Again (Milan 2003), it's awesome how Cristina sings that song!

Don't like Lacuna Coil  :-\

Though maybe if somebody could give me an example of " the average Lacuna Coil song"
I would give it a try.
Or a song where Cristina does some awesome vocals

nudge nudge wink wink

I think this song represents the average LC songs I know (except for Heaven' s a lie and still that sounds vaguely like that): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr3x7tS__dE

Well, maybe slightly less hiphop'ish

*g* true for the newer stuff  ;D

@Zephan zeke: Usually they change their style from album to album, you might try songs from Unleashed Memories, In A Reverie or Comalies, e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUAlm4epbE0

Comalies is one of my all time favourite albums but I did not enjoy their other albums as much as I find the melodies too mellow. Some songs I never get tired of like Daylight Dancer and Unspoken.

Comalies is certainly a great album, but I think the EPs together with both In a Reverie and Unleashed Memories deserve a lot more appreciation.. and not to mention their fantastic demo; Shallow End is probably my favorite song by them (I wish I could get Frozen Feeling :'().

It is hard to get into these releases, I spent a lot of time listening to Comalies and Karmacode only (Karmacode is an underrated album I think, it has some really good stuff into an uninteresting album, you just have to take a few songs out and it's fantastic) but then found myself listening to their earlier work over and over again.

From Comalies I enjoy 'Angel's Punishment' and 'The Ghost Woman and the Hunter' a lot, but Comalies is my fave one I think (why didn't them play it live? >:().

I saw Lacuna Coil last month with a really short setlist (just 12 songs) and with only Senzafine, Swamped and Heaven's a Lie from their earlier stuff, but anyways I enjoyed it a lot and got the change to greet Cristiano ;D

I do not like In A Reverie and Unleashed Memories as much as Comalies, I do not dislike them either. I really To Live Is To Hide from Unleashed Memories though. They are great albums when I want to listen to mellower music.

To Live is to Hide is awesome, I love when it gets heavy in the middle 8)

In a Reverie is mellow 'cause of the usage of acoustic riffs, but you can certainly headbang to it if you want, for example 'Honeymoon Suite' :P
And then Unleashed Memories is mellow 'cause its full of down-tempo songs like Purify and When a Dead Man Walks, and because it has 2 ballads on it (which I really like, btw), but I think '1.19', 'Wave of Anguish' and 'To Live is to Hide' are quite powerful anyways.

What do you think about Dark Adrenaline ?
