One thing: do sort out the way you write the name of the band cause it's wrong in the topic, then you start the text writing it right and then you just end up writing it wrong again! It's Leaves' Eyes. Don't get me wrong, just wanted you to notice the mistake.
No problem, I've noticed actually the mistake after having posted my message, so I had (partially) edited the message, but it seems impossible to edit the topic, so I suppose that a moderator could do that
I really like Lovelorn and can't wait for Vinland Saga.
You will adore Vinland Saga, it's really like it is described in the interviews on the Leaves' Eyes site, more ambitious, conceptual and symphonic !
And you know, that is not Liv Kristine's band. That is a band for itself and she is apart of it. Or else, she probably wouldn't have a record contract with her name on it and recording her second solo album.
Yes, I know also the solo album of Liv Kristine, it's really different from her work with a band.
What I have suggested is simply the fact that Leaves' Eyes is the logic continuation of her work with TOT (3 first albums). Under this aspect, Liv Kristine is THE voice of an unique world, that is defined by the other members of the band in which she is the point of attraction.
Don't really think you can compare Liv Kristine with Vibeke Stene, they sing in totally diferent ways. And Liv Kristine has been around for so long now, more then 10 years!! When Tarja and Vibeke were still probably not even thinking of being in a band, Liv was already enchanting the world (this last part is an historical and chronological fact).
Can you explain these 10 years ?
First album of TOT : 1995
First album of Nightwish : 1997
First album of Tristania : 1997
And Theatre of Tragedy will surely release their new album pretty soon! And I can't wait for that one either!
I'm not sure if it will be released very soon, I've just discovered that the second album of The Crest (Vain City Chronicles) has been released 2 weeks ago (I must find it ...), so, I suppose that The Crest will promote first his album by touring. Nell is in both bands ... (and I like what she does with The Crest, a kind of pop-gothic-metal).
I had the opportunity to see them live with Nell singing and she really convinced me (what I thought would be difficult, seeing my admiration for Liv). That concert was really good! I'm not sure they're gonna continue that electronic path. We'll just have to wait and see.
I hope that TOT will come back to the Aegis approach, eventually with different accents. I can anyway imagine very well Nell's voice on Aegis songs, so, that's probably a good choice. For the rest, TOT could find another equilibrium between guitars and electronics, just like Paradise Lost on his two last albums.
Finally, we can like both Liv and Nell .... the best proof is that picture on the TOT site :
