NIGHTWISH have selected "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" as the next single off their mega-successful "Once" album. The single will be released in Finland on November 24. In addition to the title cut, the CD will include "Creek Mary's Blood" (orchestral/instrumental score) and a cover of MEGADETH's "Symphony of Destruction", recorded live at Nosturi in Helsinki in October 2004. Nuclear Blast Records will release the single under the title "Death Makes An Artist" during February. The bonus tracks are the same, but there will also be an "animated video of the title track" on this European version.

IMHO opinion, wishmaster is the best album (and i cannot imagine how someone can say it sucks!) - it's funny how it's so clearly how tarja's vocie is changing with every album - from good to better then to the best

I love Wishmaster,it's my favorite album by themI love the Kinslayer track off of it.
I've seen a complete change in Nightwish for the Once album, the track Wish I had an angel sounds almost industrial-ish.

Industrial a la Rammstein, best track of the album IMO.

in my opinion and Nightwish is the best in their genre - symphonic metal.

Ehm... 'symphonic metal' includes a lot of things, including the style Tristania plays, Dimmu Borgir's version of black metal, etc. Those bands are also highly influenced by classical music and use that (therefor symphonic).

Most people see Nightwish as 'powermetal', but IMO Blind Guardian is a much better band in that genre and I'm not that fond of that band either. For me it looks like Nightwish is 10% music, 30% Tarja, 10% other members and 50% (over)hype. There are much better powermetal-bands out there.

i think it would be a pure heretism to call them power metal! no way they are that....
they are settled in symphonic melodic metal and theyself call them melodic heavy with operatic vocals! so choose :D

I prefer to leave the symphonic metal genre to bands like Therion, Haggard etc...  Dimmu Borgir undoubtedly has symphonic elements but its just an aspect to their sound.

I have a question about Nightwish.  The track End of All Hope from Century Child isn't supposed to be a black/death metal song right or is it?  I downloaded it(correct name and all) the song ended up being something more along the lines of not particularly melodic black/death metal.  Anybody else run into that?

Black/Death metal?  Wow... I think someone mislabeled that MP3!  End of All Hope sounds like... I can't put my finger on the name of the classical composition but it sounds like a battle march or something... on the keyboards, and it's pretty melodic.  Typical Nightwish song in my opinion.  No death/black metal elements at all.

And about Wishmaster... I don't like that one, save for maybe two songs.  Actually Oceanborn is the only NW album I can really get into.

It did sound unrealistic but of the two reviews I read one of them said it was an almost death metal track(lol @ almost) and the other one said it was more of a typical Nightwish song.  All in all I have to give props to the people who switched the tracks to play that joke on the melody seeking Nightwish fans.  I guessed it might be Gorgoroth but someone else is pretty sure its Marduk.  I was kinda enjoying its headbanging brutality until I heard the M Word!  :o    It could have been Mayhem's - Mysteriis for all I know.  All sounds like the same style riff every other BM band I've heard uses which was a bad part of it.

considering dimmu brogir (why are you ALWAYS mentioning that band?) it's melodic black, just like you have in flames who are melodic death....

Its probably because they are the biggest name in any black metal scene (kvlt, mainstream whichever).

Even though they are undoubtedly melodic and well I personally don't even care if they qualify for troo black metal.  Coming to that realization is just a losing battle in itself anyways.  I think they should be considered symphonic black metal because of bands like Dissection that are melodic black metal that don't really use keyboards and are a better comparison to In Flames(although their fans would murder me for saying that).

After a bit of research I found the track to be Marduk's "Glorification of the Black God".

I like the video for WIHAA : Marco looks evil, Tarja is great...
I prefer the version without the Alone In The Dark images.

I just saw them in action some weeks ago here in Milano...they are great and Tarja's voice is wonderful... but I still prefer Vibeke's voice, it's more clear..
