VoA are pretty cool to listen to (Cast Away only, not their horrible debut), but they're not exactly a serious band. They're kinda like a very superior version of Within Temptation. However, this new cover looks more aggressive and less girly than the previous ones, so I have high hopes this time. I just hope Melissa is as good as Nicole (who I really liked).

Btw, Decipher is an overrated AF release. The best Mark Jansen's albums are Prison of Desire and The Phantom Agony.

I can't see any similarities to WT really... :)
Have you listened already to the samples? They sound more like power metal or so...  :)

I don't know them. Trying to listen to the samples at the moment. Humm I can't stand the clean male vocals and the singer's voice (who I've heard before in Aesma Daeva) seems diminished a lot when she's not live.
I don't know. I guess I have to listen to them a bit more. :-X

Decipher is not overrated.  ::)

And I listened to the samples.  I'm very excited.  I didn't like their last singer very much.. and the male singer. *cringe*  he seems more tolerable this time.  :D

I meant they're a superior version of Edenbridge, not WT ::)

I've heard the samples, sounds promising. I didn't like their last album and the old singer, but now they are becoming interesting,  I think. The new singer is so much better and the music too.

Their really great! (talking about Visions Atlantis)  -Think I found them on Myspace... -love her voice!
I know many think they sound like Nightwish, but I definitely don't... maybe her voice a little bit, but seriously!!!! No matter what, every band that plays metal with a female classical singer, are being compared to Nightwish!

GET OVER IT FOLKS !!!  :-\

I think their great no matter what, their still a new band, so their music genre could maybe change drastic. Many bands can change through their time together...

I have heard the new album already and I love it.  :D  I am overall a Melissa Ferlaak fangirl. XD
I can't stop listening to "Return to You", it's so emotional and beautiful. <3

Why do they let the guy sing?  XD  That's my only criticism.  I never liked him...

I'm familiar with all of their stuff & I gotta say that the new stuff does sound similar to Nightwish. Her vocals sound like Tarja & the music is very much along the lines of Nightwish. That being said, I think they sound better than ever & hope to see them on tour.

I'm listening to their new album for the first time at the moment. :) They have the same structure as Nightwish (except that Nightwish is much better IMO ;) ). The male singer is making my ears bleed. :-\

I heard the complete album and I'm happy with what they did. I couldn't really stand them before, but they made a big step forward for sure. VoA have many in common with Nightwish, that's true, Melissa completely sounds like Tarja sometimes and it's quite different from what she did with her former band, Aesma Daeva (interesting band!). The male singer was worse on the old albums, he's ok most of the time now, but he clearly isn't the strongest part of the band... I'm curious how they sound live, I missed them last year.

After hearing all the sample on their site, I was left a bit disappointed. Yes, it's better than Cast Away. But it doesn't come even close to the perfect Eternal Endless Infinity. Hopefully, the full length songs will end up having a few cool parts. That's my opinion anyway.

Trinity is really great :)
they put much more power into the songs, and Melissa is really great. Mario has improved very much too...

I don't like VoA, there's nothing interesting for me in their music. Just another Nightwish-like band.

Minnesota-based vocalist Melissa Ferlaak and guitarist Wolfgang "Wops" Koch have officially left the Austrian symphonic metal band VISIONS OF ATLANTIS.

As they say in the article, Melissa doesn't know what the word commitment means.

It's a pity, Melissa was really great.

Wops has another band - Wolfpack Unleashed (http://www.wolfpackunleashed.com/)

in my opinion, they would be a great band if they will eliminate the male vox, i don't like his style.  >:(

nicole was great, and melissa was also great. i also like their songs, (but without the male vox which is pretty dominant)

i hope they will find another great female singer!

Mmm... their male vocalist sounds like an American Nü-Metal kid >:(. The girl is not bad... she really reminds me to yore's Tarja  :'(. The music is boring, just another Gothic Metal repetitive stuff ::)
