I must say I am impressed by the efforts, thanks a lot you all  :)
I couldn't found the time to help, so I am very thankfull.
Still I am curious how it will be in compare with the booklet from the cd.

I translated this already, look in this topic :)))

"On the earth we shall stay" (or literally "On the earth we shall dwell") / "We have to stay on the earth" maybe with the meaning "We are doomed to stay on the earth" or "we are meant to the earth". (further it has a religious meaning "being left on the earth" or "being profane and not sacred"
The direct word-to-word translation is: "To/Till/Until earth must we stay"

It's sort of a shame there isn't more Norwegian in the lyrics :)

[off topic] Is that Japanese in your avatar, Emperor_Konny? ;D [/off topic]

EDIT: Aaah, I read 'Emperor Konny' in there, and 'Sariora'(?) and Guitarist ;D

No problem :))) maybe a little note to that translation - the "skal" form in Norwegian is a form which expresses future which is wanted or can be influenced by the speaker (at least due to my Bokmål grammer-book) :)))
So maybe including this aspekt,
"till jord skal vi bli" means not forced to stay on the earth but it's own free decision :))

well, helped by my sister that studied Norwegian, the literal translation is almost the same of Emperor....but i think the meaning is different, according to the rest of the lyrics. My personal interpretation is the following: "Until we'll get back in dust!"

i asked a friend of mine from norway to translate it, and she said it literally meant "we will become soil", soil can be understood as earth or dust, and she said that usually people say that in a funeral. i suppose that "Til" has a similar meaning of "to" in english, like "we will be made to dust/ reduced to dust"

We can work together to try to find them.  ??? is when I don't understand what Vibeke sings.
Here is what I've been able to figure out:

Ab Initio

"On this day the sky came alive
My lover and I witnessed a miracle
Suddenly you were here
And I felt like nothing could ever be broken
But days fickle away

Chorus:
If I could stop time from attacking
If I could slow everything down
A smile with no fear of tomorrow
Your time is yet to come

You laugh and you cry
You wear your against to the flow ???
You send me a smile
And to the  ???
And it seems like you are falling asleep
But your eyes bleaming/leaving open  ???
Like to me distance

(Chorus)

If I...
If I...
If I...

You could go anywhere (...)
I come/call away...
I come/call away...
I come/call away...

Could someone help me fill in the blanks please?

This is what I hear for Ab Initio:

On this day
The sky came alive

My lover and I
Witnessed a miracle

Suddenly
You were here
Felt like nothing could ever be broken
But days flicker away...

If I could stop time from attacking
If I could slow everything down
A smile with no fear of tomorrow
Your time is yet to come

You laugh and you cry
Lower your gaze to the floor

You send me a smile
And to the night a dawn

Then it seems
Like you are falling asleep
But your eyes remain open
Like two evening stars

If I could stop time from attacking
If I could slow everything down
A smile with no fear of tomorrow
Your time is yet to come

If I... [repeat x 3]

You could go anywhere...

Your tears are numbered
Release me, I've slumbered

I've gone away
I've gone away

Your tears are numbered
Release me, I've slumbered

I've gone away [repeat to fade]

Have you noticed how dry are Illumination's lyrics comparativelyAshes lyrics - here are some clichés and less real story, everything is just over thousands and thousands times used melancholy dramatising. Of course here is some lovely and amazing lyrics but these good things are really infrequent, too infrequent. In Ashes there were a lot of everything amazing - especially in Libre: "and every bullet hole in our holy town is an orifice me to rape." All dark and lovely personality, supriseness what we had in Ashes - we don't have it any more in Illumination.

I almost, almost, would say that over a halv of Illumination's lyrics is just a boring and personality killing, eh, rubbish.

Ehm...

a) doesn't the entire "gothic metal" scene exist on that?

b) I have the idea older Tristania albums (especially Widows Weeds) are far worser on overdramatising.
