Osten talks about "Open Ground" and "Fate"
« on: 07 July 2007, 19:33:41 »

Well I was looking for pictures in some Metal webs but I've found also an interview where Osten talks about these 2 songs --> (for me the best songs of Illumination with "Destination Departure"  :))
He said that "Open Ground" is a song that talks about a man that decided to kill his girlfriend, while "Fate" talks about a suicide-bomber.  :o

Sorry but I miss the URL of the interview  :(

Kisses and sorry for my bad english  :P

Who's gonna end it when you cannot make it stop? . *

I always thought "Open Ground" was about war or something like that.

I love how Tristania songs can be interpreted to mean so many different things. The layered lyrics are just divine. I can relate to almost all the Tristania songs, in one way or another. Especially with "new" Tristania.

Something interesting I just noticed:

We have a book of poetry called Opened Ground by Seamus Heaney, and the first poem in it is called Digging!

Coincidence? Maybe. The poem is about Seamus' Dad diggin in the garden, so it doesn't fit in with the lyrics of the song, but maybe Osten got the seed of inspiration from this, and it just grew in a different direction. Maybe.

Still interesting anyway :)
