I have Ab Initio. If you want you can add me on MSN and I'll send it to you. However, I didn't hear White Clown yet.

My personal preference is "In the Wake", but to be quite honest, I'm not loving either of the bonus tracks as much as I love other Tristanian works. I think "Ab Initio" is the worst Tristania track.  Lips sealed

I bought my illumination yesterday and that has Ab Initio, that´s a very weird song, very beautiful too, completely different of the old songs of Tristania, that sounds like a song from disney´s cartoons.

yeah, you're right, like from "A Little Mermaid" Wink
I also prefer In The Wake, bur Ab Initium is so quiet and sensitive and smooth like a touch of velvet...my talented Vibeke...

I FINALLY was able to listen to In the Wake today. I must say, it is my favourite track on Illuminations. The growls and the synthesized vocal "Ahhs" are two things in particular I like about the song, other than it sounds like something that should have been released on Ashes-which is one of my favourite albums. Yes, Vibeke is only in the background (and a little hard to hear) contrary to Ab Initio which features her exclusively. The two songs are pretty much opposite of eachother-Ab Initio is soft, whilst In the Wake is very angry sounding and powerful. Conclusively, it is close, but I would go with In the Wake.

I think Ab Initio is really boring. It's my least favourite song of the whole CD, and usually when I listen to it, I just skip it. I never heard In the Wake though. . . but I'm sure it's better than that.

I haven't heard Ab Initio, but In the Wake has these really cool synth parts where the keyboard player sounds like he's turning the knobs.

Without any doubt, In the Wake

Listening to it, reminds me of Ashes ... don't you think guys?  Smiley

As for me, I prefer "Ab Initio" by far (and not necessarily because of Vibeke, who's already great). In my opinion, it has such a wonderful atmosphere, very beautiful lyrics and the music itself is just fabulous. It feels like "some kind of heaven" everytime I listen to it. I've heard "In the wake" as well, but it gets to be the opposite of "Ab Initio" for me. I think that it actually has some interesting tunes and musical variations, but I don't like the song at all.
Sadly, it's got impossible for me to get neither an Illumination edition with "Ab Initio" on it (since I live in Europe) nor the "Sanguine Sky" single, although I would even say that it's my favourite song on Illumination (talking overall).

Greetings and my best wishes to everyone, it's a pleasure to be on this board!

I loved both songs, too bad they both weren't released on all editions of Illumination.

Clear choice for me, "In the Wake"!
I really like "Ab Initio", but it's a little bit to boring, and "In the Wake" sounds really new and a little bit "weird", but in a positive way! Tongue
