I like Ave End... He has a nice clean voice and there are some quite good songs on the album in my opinion... :)

I saw them live in May... i liked the gig very much... and even a friend of mine who doesn't like any doom or so really enjoyed them.. :)

(I know... you don't really can Lacrimas Profundere Doom anymore.. )

Ave End, can be listened to, its kind of pop but on a more darker male voice. but the album before it Fall, I Will Follow. Other than And Her Enigma (Which IS A VERY VERY VERY Beautiful instrumental) i couldnt bear to listen the other songs.

Memorandum was great, but i think the sales made them change their mind and go into a different market

Ave End Pop?.. Sorry.. can't agree with that... this album is far away from pop in my opinion...even if the songs are good earworms... (exists this word in E?... :))
But this is the case with many Metalbands too....

Lacrimas where a gream Doom Gothic band, but then they changed, i blame their managers and them, after a band changes their style so drastically i refer to them as pop music
maybe Ave End is a bit darker to be called pop, but it isnt definetly aint gothic, doom or whatever they were.
would you agree on the word punk rock?

Punk Rock?.. why Punk?... and why Pop?

Ok.. I agree that they have changed their style, but they said they wouldn't be able to reach their old albums again, so they changed and this is ok in my opinion...
And Ave End is soft Gothic Metal/Rock or so, probably similar to some finnish bands which noone would call Pop or Punk.. :)
Ave End is a great album in my opinion, but you probably shouldn't compare this to their old work to enjoy it really...  :)

Ave End's songs are catchy and nice,
but i would have liked more piano and such, it just aint ma style

And the reason i called them as a pop band was mainly because of Fall, I Will Follow :|

Voted for Angellore. I've used that as a first step for luring many unsuspecting souls into liking Tristania. :) Speaking only for myself though, it's probably Desember Elegy. Or Midwintertears. Seriously, this is one of my all-time favourite records.

I was always surprised they made a video for Evenfall, I find that to be one of the weaker tracks on the CD. Which still doesn't prevent it from being really good, of course.

Lacrimas redefined their goal, although their lead singers voice is amazing, very emotional.

Angellore is beautiful but then again so is everysong
I especially like the growling in the middle of midwintertears and the great lyrics
sometime i just can't help it, i stop what ever i'm doing just to listen to MidWinterTears.

hmm...

Hate to break the Lacrimas Profundere discussion, but I thought I'd post something about the topic.  I guess I'm the only one who likes Evenfall.  I think it's the best song on Weeds by far.

no problem... Lacrimas is nearly Off-Topic in here.. ;)

When nobody voted for this song does not mean that nobody likes it... but the songs are all great... so it's not that easy to choose one...  :)

To get back to the Off-Topic... :)
@Black Swans: Yeah... he has a very beautiful voice... i really like it... )

That would depend on how one would define gothic metal.  I've heard people mentioning everything from Evanescence to My Dying Bride.  Personally I think Widows Weeds would be the easiest to classify of their albums in the genre.  It really has all the essential elements.

Evanescence gothic? lol!!!
My Dying Bride gothic? Definetly :)

I would classier WW and BTV and true gothic albums although WW is a bit sadder (i think) BTV is a bit angrier (i think)
