Tristanias album World of glass is ok and so on. But some weakness... where is vibekes voice? but there is also the best song they ever made i think. Tristania - Deadlocked.... It's so sad and so wonderful

Now there I disagree. Vibeke's vocals were done to its very best on World of Glass, I can even claim that World of Glass is the best work she has done so far. Especially the second part of an album, including songs from Hatred Grows to Crushed Dreams is the part in which she showed all her greatness, her remarkable voice range and its flexibility.

There is already a topic about World of Glass and best song on world of glass
Vibeke's vox are more emotional upon that album: there's a rule
The more feelings are in the vocals the less technique and other way round. So WoG is less operetic - that's true but Tristania are not about the opera, they are more about moods and feelings...

By the way, listen to "The Modern End"... :)

@Endumion...i agree with the others in the fact that Vibeke's voice is the best worked on WoG! actually the album takes advantange a lot more of her talent to "color" the mood of every song, on the way she can blend her voice just to make a certain song sound better! i agree with the fact that Deadlocked is a beautiful song but not the best on the album... or at least for me...

It's also my favorite song on WoG. It's so simple, based on just two chords, but it strikes some emotional depths within me.

hmm... in many cases the "simple" songs are the ones who are able to wake deeper feelings in me..

Deadlock is a very good Tristania-song, but.. not the best! It sounds like a balad and it make me feel... so strange! Gooooood!!! Actually, I prefer Bird, and " Tears falling from the sky, worlds from a lullaby..." I don't remember its name!! :D

You are not right! Easy listening songs are not better than others! You said in anothere forum something about Opeth! Do you remeber! It doesn't matter how simple is the song... but... the lyrics, the music and so on!

I don't meant easy listening... but songs who seem to be very simple. for example consist of just 1-2 guitar riffs or so... but built a intense atmosphere with them...

No, I don't think it's the best song on WoG. It's nice, but hrere are ballads that touche me much more.

Another song that just crept up on me one day, I found myself singing it in my head, and when I got home that night, put it right on. Must have listened to it ten times in a row, what a great song, and strangely chilling right around the weird "rope around your neck" part.

Double bass kicks in at the second chorus, and it just washes over you, the power of it all is just amazing thru even a mediocre stereo. God I love that song!

Stop pick on me.  <_<  alright i'd have some wrong. But i have listen to Tristania very mutch now. And no Deadlock is not the best song but. I think Vibeke should use her beauty voice more.

Modern End is very good.. but i think Vibeke is very very nice.

You`re right all the way! But bear in mind that Deadlocked did it all for Tristania worlwide in terms of spreading the name! First glimpse of the band I had from one compilation a friend of mine brougth up from France while studing there, and guess what   song it was??  And for the chicks...there`s nothing like Deadlocked, plus: I really love, without beeing faget about it :)
 :o

listening to it right now. so i`m very honest

With me, The Shining Path is the best song of this album.
I worship to it, from the music to the vocals. Well, the deep atmospheric music, combined with good violin, choir and guitar. The voice of Ronny and Vibeke are both good.
Deadlocked, can't help listening to it. I can found hopelessness in this song. I really enjoy it, but I have to say the music is still rather simple, at least, more simple than the others.
Okie, I think that's all!

@Endumion: Equilibrium, the song I enjoy the most in Ashes. Well, it's very attrative, the music. Although I don't like Ashes as much as I do with the earlier albums, but Equilibrium is really good. Another songs in Ashes I enjoy are Libre and Cure. The whole album can't be compared with World of Glass, although still good.

I quite like it. It's very atmospheric and the voclas are nice. It's like a refreshing intermission after the intense treacks on the albums. But then again I don't hate any Tristania song.
