I sort of liked the album since the first listening but it didn't blow me away as the previous albums did...i don't like all the 10 songs in the same way, there are a few that don't make me very enthusiastic but i really love all the Vibeke vocals in this cd...her voice is simply beautiful! To make it short, i think it's a good cd but it doesn't reach the perfection of "Widow's weeds" and "Beyong The Veil"!

I listen to World Of Glass more than any other album!!! It's truely stunning and if someone makes a feature film about the Revelations of St John (maybe a modern take meets the ancient world), I hope they ask Tristania to help with the music for the soundtrack.

I was a bit confused, it was the second album I bought (after BTV), I wondered if this was really Tristania, everyting sounded strange to me. After I had lietened to it a few times, I began to appreciate certain songs. I think it's not a genious alabum, but it's nice.

Two words: MAJOR LETDOWN!

I do love TTOE and Deadlocked though. I didn't like many of the other songs, but some of them are starting to grow on me now.

I was ENAMORED with "World of Glass" at first. Perhaps the reason why I don't really like it anymore is because I overplayed it during that obsession. However, "The Shining Path" is still one of my favorite Tristania songs.

i don't actually have it yet (i'm getting the CD for xmas) but i love what i've heard. i've also heard a lot from Beyond the Veil, and i think i like World of Glass better.

i'm a noob fan to Tristania, so i hope this question isn't dumb, but why were they on hiatus for so long in between CD's?

I definitely shared your initial shock and awe at what seemed to have happened to Tristania. With BTV as my initial christening, and tempering with Widow's Weeds, I was just....    shall we say, greatly disappointed. I will admit, partly because of Morten's departure, as Widows Weed's is just drenched in his growling and what not. I like Morten, and greatly respect his love of music and doing what he loves, regardless of whatever happened between them all. I love all of them, and though sad that it had to end, it doesnt have an unhappy ending at all.

Because now I have like 3 great bands to listen to because of the whole mess!

Checking in on Morten, I had to try out Sirenia, and "at Sixes n Sevens", though quite strange at first (as post-Morten Tristania was for me), has totally grown on me and Ive really come to like it alot. Also, wanting to see what Ronnie had been up to prior made me check out Trail of Tears, and I can safely say "Profoundemonium" totally kicked my ass, I love it!

And of course, as time went on, I found myself returning more an more to World of Glass, and now it's looking like a permanent resident in my cd player.

Firstly, I hated this album. I think so many chaos.
After 3 times listening, I fell in love with it, and never want to get out.
I really enjoy it! From the choir, the music and the vocals. Everything!
The album is rich, deep and atmospheric. Well! That's all!

I too was quite surprised at how different it was but then I just got addicted to it. I love Hatred Grows, it has nice moral and of course Selling Out.

A different paced album. My favorite, and the one where I think Vibeke showcases her voice the best, alternating between strenght and vulnerability.

The third one I "really" listened to. I had it before I got Ashes, but for some reason it took me a while to get into WoG. I wish I had done that sooner.

I remeber that day too well. 11th of March 06, My aunt was dying in the hospital and I decided to find some new music on itunes so I thought, heck why not Tristania. So I downloaded the song World of Glass and I listened to it for 12 hours since I liked it so much. Later that day I downloaded The Modern End. I think before I went to my aunt's funeral I downloaded 2 other songs since it would be a long drive and I need alot of music on my ipod so I don't get bored in the car. I just downloaded Tender Trip Earth today. As you can see I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to this band.

Jen really knows how to tell a story.
For some strange reason I disliked the World of Glass album before I heard it. I think it was because a friend said it was heavier tha Ashes, but it's not so I got on with it fine. The first song I downloaded was Crushed Dreams which really got me started with all the techno and choirs and violins. World of Glass was good too. I didn't like Hatred Grows the first time I heard it, but it grew on me.
