I wanna ask you what you think about The Modern End? The first times i heard WOG i skipped that song, but when i listend some times to this song i really got to love it, especially when I'm lying in bed late at night. I haven't thougt that my opinion about one song can change that much..  [snapback]129[/snapback] The song is great... especialy the dynamic in it... |

I really love this song....Vebeke is incredible on this song! Anyways...darkness in my kingdom is angina ....I realised it when I had angina on cd and darkness in my kingdom on my computer and it was the same thing!

The Modern End is most certainly one of the best song on WoG! Vibeke's voice is magical and the atmosphere is quite enchating! they did a great job with this cover!

The Modern End is in a way very special song to me, because it was the song that made me explore my own voice and my own abilites to sing. Since I first heard it I wanted to hit the height of ''do they know they are trapped'' - and that very trespass between the chorus and the rest of the song is one of the best in this song IMO.
However, if I hadn't known it's a cover, I'd probably say it's Tristania's song, because they just personalized it. Vibeke's voice is amazingly cold IMO in this song, as well as the entire ambient, and I really love the way she develops the song's atmosphere from fragile singing to more and more powerful. That gives the song its focus.

Vibeke always manages to complete the atmosphere a tristanian song describes... f.e. She completes the cold atmosphere on The Modern End, just to underline Angina's idea (hellozz from MS ), she has a tired voice on Shadowman, a vivid voice on Angina, the choirs on Opus Relinque outline the anger the song describes, again a cold voice on Libre, haunting vocals on The Wretched, very high vocals on the beginning of Evenfall which outline the fragility of the song, again a tired tone on December Elegy, not to mention the whispers on the same song and the list goes on only to show the imense talent she has! i really admire her voice and her ability to give the song that special spark it needs to make it brilliant! her voice is undoubtebly one of the most important elements in tristanian songs... |

I adore this song...together with Deadlocked is my favourite!
I love Vibeke's voice in this song, especially in the melodic part of the refrain!
