Why??
« on: 20 February 2007, 21:50:44 »

Why did Tristania have to stop creating this awesome music? Their first two and their latest two albums are all lacking. This is the perfect one in the middle. 9 songs of extreme talent and passion. Why did Tristania have to get rid of those amazing choirs, keyboards and operatic vocals? Now they're just another regular gothic metal band. I just wish they could release a similar album like World of Glass because I've worn the CD out...

Anyway, does anyone know the lyrics of the choir singing on The Shining Path and Wormwood?

Um... I'm glad they've changed, WoG is my least favourite album. Not to say it isn't good though... tastes differ... ::)

I enjoy WoG. But I agree, they've done much better than that :)

EDIOT: Wuhu...I deleted my words, because I don't want any more quarrels with ''Camp Ashes/Illumination''  ;D

And beats me why the hell did they end up without choirs!?!  ???

Bands sell out. This is, unfourtnetly, a way of life.

if they will create that same kind of music again and again, it will be boring. Each album has different flavor and I think they maintain a healthy dose of change.

I don't agree that the other albums are lacking, but World of Glass is definately my favourite album!! In my opinion it is their best album and I would like them to continue producing music such as it is on World of Glass, but as others said, if it stays the same it will get boring. I think my least favourite album would be Illumination, not to say I hate it, I just would consider it my least favourite. But World of Glass is my favourite album of all time!!! :D

like was already said, every album of Tristania is different from others....and,i think that the all their albums are simply great,so Tristania wasnt, isnt and won't be regular gothic/doom metal group....there isnt group equal to Tristania, and such group will never rise...
my opinion

I have to admit world of glass is my favorite album by tristania, but I like all the other albums too, I'm glad they experiment so every album sounds different so we don't get bored. That's what makes them great :D

Sell out? When did a band that needs day jobs to survive become a sell out? To sell out would mean that the bands actually sacrificed something in order to become incredibly more popular and get the cash rolling in, and for all I know, Anders might be flipping burgers during the day to make ends meet.

Sell out???

Do people just like to throw the random sell-out argument just because they don't agree of the musical path the band has decided to take?

Yep, so it would seem... I love Ashes too, and Illumination I like very much, but the first three were the greatest ones. I still understand why Tristania decided to change the course, for example BtV was mostly just WW made again (slightly better though) and WoG then took (after Veland left) a more modern sound, in my opinion. Ashes really doesn't suck even if the choirs are missing, actually I've found out that it's quite impossible to wear it out, there's something completely unique in it. Illumination was maybe more rock than what was expected, and surely that's why many of the old Tristania fans dislike it. I hope they'll keep changing, because it might be kind of boring to stuck in that rock style - even if it's amazing for an album or two, and surely works excellently when played live. Still I don't think I'm the only one who misses the growling vocals. ::)
